
AVP operates a professional aircraft maintenance
department. We are on call twenty four hours per day, seven days
per week. The department consists of the Director of
Maintenance, a full time parts manager, five full time and two
part time maintenance technicians. Airframe and powerplant
maintenance performed includes but is not limited to, annual
inspections, progressive inspections, hot sections and borescope
inspections, prop balancing and an extensive array of repairs to
airframes and powerplants as needed. Tech Aviation is approved
as an FAA Limited Repair Station (TVMR353S) performing ATC
Transponder Testing in accordance with FAR Part 43, and
altimeter system tests and inspections.
Maintenance personnel train at Simuflite or Flight Safety
International. Initial and recurrent training has included
aircraft specific training for Westwind, King Air 90, King Air
200, Cessna 208B, Falcon 10, and various Piper products.
Recurrent training is accomplished in dynamic prop balancing on
the Chadwick Helmuth system.
The Tech
Aviation maintenance department incorporates the ATP Navigator
system to track current FAR's and AD's. This computerized
tracking system is operated by Tech to track pertinent
information for all Part 135 and Part 141 Flight School
aircraft. Tech Aviation also performs repairs and downline
maintenance for Part 121 commercial operations including US
Airways, United Express, and Comair.

Mike Grizzanti receives Third
Certificate of Training Award
Tech Aviation is proud to announce that Mike Grizzanti, Director
of Maintenance, has received another “Ruby Award” for
satisfactorily completing training requirements as required by
the FAA. Mike has been with Tech Aviation since 1991, and was
recently assigned to his current position as Director of
Maintenance. Mike has received awards previously in 1995 and the
“Gold Award” in 1999. Mike has satisfactory completed numerous
schools receiving certification for both Pratt & Whitney JT15D
and PT6 engine maintenance along with certification in complete
King Air and Cessna Citation maintenance.
